Roberta’s Family Therapy Services are based on Systems Theory. This theory basically says that if one member of a family is struggling or has a problem, then the whole family has a problem and should be treated systemically. Roberta can see the whole family, or see groups and sub-groups such as parents, siblings, or children.
Is someone in the family ill?
Is a family member having emotional problems that affect the whole family?
Are you a parent who needs help getting your children to listen to you?
Is yours a “blended family”?
If any of these describe your family, please contact me. I am a Licensed Marriage and Famiy Therapist and have been helping families with issues like these since 2001. Marriage and Family Therapists broaden the traditional emphasis on the individual to attend to the nature and role of individuals in primary relationship networks such as marriage and the family. MFTs take a holistic perspective to health care; they are concerned with the overall, long-term well-being of individuals and their families.
Please note that:
Research indicates that marriage and family therapy is as effective, and in some cases more effective than standard and/or individual treatments for many mental health problems such as: adult schizophrenia, affective (mood) disorders, adult alcoholism and drug abuse, children's conduct disorders, adolescent drug abuse, anorexia in young adult women, childhood autism, chronic physical illness in adults and children, and marital distress and conflict.
