Roberta Moore was first drawn to therapy nearly four decades ago, as a consumer seeking help for her own issues with relationships, anxiety, and perfectionism. Through learning about herself in therapy, Roberta began to understand the power she had to take control of her own journey – and found that, for her, that journey meant helping others transform their lives through therapy as well.
As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and certified Emotional Intelligence (EQ) coach, Roberta helps her clients rediscover their own voices, build better relationships, and reconnect with themselves and their loved ones. Her expertise with the framework of emotional intelligence allows her to help others develop a new perspective and take charge of their life and relationships with integrity, authenticity, and bravery.
Roberta is trained in a variety of
therapy techniques, including:
More commonly known as ‘psychotherapy,’ this treatment is based on the core idea that conversations with an objective party can help bring clarity and perspective. Through their interactions and discussions, Roberta helps her clients find ways to change behavior and overcome issues in a positive way.
Hypnosis, also known as hypnotherapy or hypnotic suggestion, allows one to enter a trance-like state of heightened focus and concentration. It is performed with the help of a therapist using verbal repetition and mental images. When under hypnosis, clients usually feel calm, relaxed, and more receptive.
This method can help clients gain better clarity and control over undesirable thoughts or behaviors and help them better cope with anxiety or discomfort. It is important to note that although hypnosis may make clients more open to suggestion, it does not mean they will lose control over their behavior. In fact, it’s usually the opposite: after hypnosis, clients typically have more control over their behavior, physical health, and general well-being.
This nurturing, relaxing practice uses gentle touch to help in finding balance for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. By addressing a client’s energy, Roberta finds ways to promote their natural ability to heal. This technique is safe for all ages and works in harmony with standard or allopathic medical care.
Roberta is trained in Levels I and II Healing Touch therapy and often uses it as a grounding practice during a session if a client begins to feel overly anxious or is finding it hard to concentrate on or talk about uncomfortable subjects. Healing Touch therapy helps many clients feel more calm, peaceful, and relaxed.
